Kanya King OBE, the founder of the MOBO Group, emphasized the significance of this milestone during the announcement of the 2026 location. "For 30 years, MOBO has been more than an awards show – it has been a movement, shaping culture, championing creativity, and opening doors for generations of talent," she stated. King highlighted that celebrating culture not only preserves history but also shapes the future, reinforcing the idea that music can inspire, unite, and transform lives.

Star-Studded Hosting and Performances

This year’s ceremony will be hosted by global hip-hop icon Eve and acclaimed comedian Eddie Kadi. Eve expressed her excitement, stating, “I’m so excited to be co-hosting the MOBO Awards in this big 30th anniversary year.” Kadi, returning for his second consecutive year, added, "Expect the unexpected with performances and surprise appearances. It’s a big year, and I’m so proud to be part of this legendary show."

The lineup of performers is equally impressive, featuring stars like Olivia Dean, Tiwa Savage, and the girl group FLO. This year’s nominations are led by Little Simz, Olivia Dean, and rising stars kwn and Jim Legxacy, each earning four nominations. Other notable nominees include FLO, Central Cee, Skepta, and PinkPantheress, each vying for three awards. The categories span a wide range of genres and achievements, from Best Male Act to Best International Act, reflecting the diversity and richness of Black music.

This free program, developed in collaboration with Manchester City Council and over 50 community leaders, will include club night takeovers, art exhibitions, and workshops. Highlights include The Black Sound Gala at Whitworth Gallery and a special event at the Niamos Centre featuring Studio 88, Manchester’s leading independent recording studio.

The MOBO Summit, scheduled for March 24 at Aviva Studios, will serve as a platform for artists, executives, and emerging creatives to engage in discussions about the future of music and culture. This city-wide cultural moment is being hailed as the largest event of its kind in MOBO history, showcasing the vibrant creativity and talent within the community.
