RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 10: "Tournament of All Stars Snatch Game" Recap

This week on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 10, the competition intensified as RuPaul Charles brought together the semifinalists from the three first-round brackets. The top nine queens faced off in the ultimate impersonation challenge, the iconic "Snatch Game." Among the competitors was Ginger Minj, a seasoned veteran who had previously triumphed in this challenge twice—once in Season 7 and again in All Stars 6.

The episode, titled "Tournament of All Stars Snatch Game," premiered on Paramount+ on July 4 at 12 a.m. PT. This episode marked a pivotal moment in the competition, as the queens showcased their impersonation skills in hopes of advancing to the finals, where one will earn the coveted crown and a cash prize of $200,000.

The Competition Format

The "Tournament of All Stars" began with 18 queens competing in a preliminary round divided into three brackets. Only nine queens advanced to the semifinals, with one additional queen set to join based on the judges’ wild card picks. The stakes are high, as only a select few will make it to the finals, where they will vie for the ultimate title and cash prize.

The nine queens still in contention at the start of the episode were: Aja, Bosco, Cynthia Lee Fontaine, Daya Betty, Ginger Minj, Irene the Alien, Jorgeous, Lydia B Kollins, and Mistress Isabelle Brooks.

The Dynamics of the Werk Room

The reunion of the three brackets brought a mix of camaraderie and competition. Mistress Isabelle Brooks aimed to keep her bracket 2 girls—Jorgeous and Lydia—unified while targeting Ginger, whom she believed was overly confident about her chances in the Snatch Game. Ginger, aware of Mistress’s tactics, chose to remain unfazed by the drama.

With the pressure mounting, Ginger decided to take a bold approach by portraying country music icon Reba McEntire. Other queens also made interesting choices: Daya Betty opted for Jane Lynch, Cynthia Lee Fontaine surprised everyone with Dracula, Irene the Alien went with Zsa Zsa Gabor, Bosco chose Kenny Kerr, Jorgeous picked Pitbull, Lydia went for Pete Burns, and Aja brought in trans icon Cookie Tookie.

The Snatch Game Performances

The Snatch Game featured Drag Race legends Raven and Raja as judges, who provided feedback on the queens’ performances. Ginger’s portrayal of Reba, complete with a humorous twist about a second job as a phone sex worker, garnered laughs and praise. Bosco impressed with her ability to switch between characters, while Mistress’s intense portrayal of Natalie Nunn left the judges feeling uneasy. Cynthia’s Dracula, despite some laughs, was critiqued for lacking storytelling.

After the performances, tensions rose in the Werk Room. Irene questioned Mistress’s self-assessment, while Aja expressed concern about her own performance. Ginger, however, remained optimistic, believing she had delivered a strong performance despite the competitive atmosphere.

Judges’ Critiques and Results

On the judges’ panel, which included Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and special guest Sarah Michelle Gellar, the critiques were sharp. Bosco, Daya, and Irene were deemed safe, while the remaining queens faced scrutiny. Jorgeous received praise for her masculine character portrayal, and Ginger’s performance was highlighted as "fully rounded," earning her the title of winner for the third time in Snatch Game history.

In a surprising twist, Cynthia and Mistress found themselves in the bottom two. They faced off in a Lip Sync for Your Life to Aretha Franklin’s "Who’s Zoomin’ Who." Mistress’s performance, which elicited laughter from Ru, secured her victory, while Cynthia was eliminated but left with the possibility of a wild card return.

Next Week’s Tease

As the competition progresses, tensions are set to rise further. Next week, Mistress instigates a conflict with Aja as the top eight prepare for the "Talent Invitational," promising more drama and fierce competition ahead.

For fans of the show, this episode was a thrilling reminder of the talent and creativity that make RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars a beloved staple in reality television.
