Glasgow’s Finest in the Spotlight

This year’s awards have seen an impressive turnout, with fifteen businesses from Glasgow making the shortlist. Notable contenders include global drinks producers Edrington Group and Whyte & McKay, both vying for accolades in the Socially Responsible Business of the Year and Green Business of the Year categories, respectively. Record Participation and Rigorous Judging

This year has seen a record number of over 400 companies entering the awards, with 150 shortlisted based on rigorous criteria. The assessment process evaluates business performance, innovation, workforce and culture, customer impact, and contributions to society and the wider economy. Alan Jope CBE, chair of the judging panel, expressed his admiration for the caliber of companies this year, stating, "Our job as judges is simply to maintain the highest standards and ensure that truly outstanding businesses emerge as the winners."

The shortlist includes global innovators like AstraZeneca and Moderna, alongside beloved brands such as Nando’s, Warburtons, and Iceland. This diverse cohort reflects the dynamic landscape of British business and its role in shaping the nation’s economic future.

Supporting a Worthy Cause

A significant aspect of the British Business Awards is its commitment to social responsibility. Josh Littlejohn MBE, founder of Social Bite and event director of the awards, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "It’s brilliant to see so many businesses across multiple sectors and sizes listed on this year’s shortlist."

The awards night promises to be a celebration of business excellence, but it also serves a greater purpose. The funds raised will enable Social Bite to continue its vital work in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness throughout the UK.

A Pre-Awards Fundraising Dinner

In addition to the main event, a fundraising dinner will be held the evening before the awards at the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel. This gathering will provide an additional opportunity for attendees to contribute to the cause while enjoying an evening of fine dining and camaraderie.
