Borrowing the words of Toby, Kings and Queens of Accra were outside last Saturday for the 2025 edition of The Oasis Gathering’s “The Outside” festival. This vibrant event was organized to unite Christi-Holics and kingdom lovers in worship, scripture study, and joyful celebration of faith in an outdoor setting.

After two successful events at Mmofra Place, this year’s festival took a bold step by moving to the University of Ghana. This change sparked a mix of excitement and apprehension among attendees, but the reputation of the Oasis Collective instilled a sense of optimism. The larger venue promised more space, enhanced production, and higher expectations, especially for newcomers.
The lead-up to the event was marked by significant partnerships with brands like Voltic, Bolt, and Coke, which added to the anticipation. Upon arrival, it was clear that meticulous planning had gone into the festival’s setup. The stage was grander, a wider array of vendors was present, and ample space allowed attendees to navigate comfortably. Notably, the organizers implemented multiple entry and check-in points, a thoughtful move that alleviated the long lines often seen at large events.

What sets The Outside apart from other Christian events is its holistic approach. Catering to a youthful audience, the festival featured a yard sale showcasing various Christian creatives beyond music and dance. Attendees could explore Christian fashion, providing a unique opportunity for those searching for Kingdom-themed attire.
Studying the word of God is central to the festival, and the Church In The Woods segment offered an intimate and interactive experience. This initiative allowed participants to deepen their understanding of scripture, complemented by worship led by Kyei Mensah and ministrations from the Scribes and Logoligi. The refreshing combination of spiritual nourishment and refreshments from Coke created a welcoming atmosphere, setting the stage for a live podcast that, while brief, was a promising start for future interactions.

The highlight of the festival was undoubtedly the Blockparty, featuring a grand stage and impressive production. The Oasis Collective showcased their commitment to high standards, delivering an unforgettable experience. Guest ministers, including Kofi Karikari, Kofi Owusu Peprah, Manlike Stunna, Edem Evangelist, and the closing act Joe Mettle, captivated the audience, creating a vibrant atmosphere that resonated with everyone present.
One of the most rewarding aspects of attending The Outside is the community it fosters. Over the years, many attendees have formed connections that extend beyond the festival. Each encounter at The Outside or other Oasis Gathering events serves as a reminder of the bonds created through shared experiences, enriching the sense of belonging within the community.
The Outside is poised to become a significant festival, not only for Christians but for the broader Ghanaian creative industry. The seamless blend of ministry and creativity evident in the festival’s evolution over the past three editions reflects the intent and vision for future growth. In the coming years, it wouldn’t be surprising to see The Outside firmly established on the December festival calendar, alongside other major events in Ghana.
The Outside 2025 has set a new benchmark, overcoming challenges to create a memorable experience. Outsiders gathered, studied, connected, and celebrated under the watchful eyes of God, marking yet another successful chapter in the Oasis Gathering’s journey.
