As a beauty editor, I test hundreds of products each year, which has honed my discerning taste. From budget-friendly high street options to luxurious high-end brands, my experiences shape my recommendations. Celebrity beauty lines often evoke mixed reactions, ranging from skepticism to fervent admiration. However, many products from these lines genuinely deliver quality results. If you’ve been skeptical about celebrity beauty brands, allow me to introduce you to some that are truly worth your investment.
On My Good List…
RARE BEAUTY (Selena Gomez)
Launched in 2020, Rare Beauty offers a diverse range of products, including color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance. One standout is the eyebrow gel, which I believe is the best on the market. It effectively holds brow hairs in place, whether you prefer a subtle look or a more dramatic, laminated effect. Just a couple of swipes will keep your brows looking flawless.
Another must-try is the Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, which gained viral fame in 2022. Its highly pigmented formula means a tiny dot goes a long way, providing a natural flush that lasts. The lightweight texture blends seamlessly, and it comes in a variety of shades to complement all skin tones.
For those who often forget to moisturize their hands, Selena’s Hydrating Hand Cream is a game-changer. Its compact size makes it perfect for on-the-go hydration, and the delightful scent will have you sniffing your hands throughout the day.
FENTY BEAUTY (Rihanna)
Rihanna launched Fenty Beauty in 2017, revolutionizing the industry with an inclusive range of 40 foundation shades. This initiative addressed the long-standing lack of options for black and brown women, prompting other brands to follow suit.
One of my favorite products is the Butta Drop Whipped Oil Body Cream. It hydrates beautifully while leaving a radiant finish on the skin, perfect for showcasing your legs or collarbone. The luxurious texture melts into the skin, providing both moisture and a delightful scent.
If you struggle with midday shine, the Invisimatte Instant Setting Blotting Powder is a lifesaver. This transparent powder effectively absorbs excess oil without flattening your complexion. Rihanna even used it during her Super Bowl halftime show, proving its reliability.
The Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation offers high coverage that conceals everything from redness to pigmentation. Its velvety matte finish looks airbrushed without appearing overly done, making it a staple in my makeup routine.
VICTORIA BECKHAM BEAUTY (Victoria Beckham)
Victoria Beckham debuted her beauty line in 2019, following a successful collaboration with Estée Lauder. The range has since expanded to include skincare in partnership with luxury brand Augustinus Bader.
The Satin Kajal Liner is a standout product, gliding on smoothly and offering intense pigmentation. It’s blendable for a smoky eye look but sets firmly, ensuring it stays put throughout the day.
While the price point is on the higher side, the Foundation Drops are worth every penny. This lightweight formula blends seamlessly into the skin, smoothing out texture and fine lines while providing a radiant finish that looks natural.
RHODE (Hailey Bieber)
Hailey Bieber’s skincare brand, Rhode, made its UK debut in 2025, generating significant buzz. The range is fragrance-free and focuses on gentle, barrier-repairing ingredients, now including color cosmetics.
The Pocket Blush is a creamy, densely pigmented product that blends effortlessly, leaving a dewy finish. Its compact size is not only adorable but also practical for touch-ups on the go.
The Barrier Butter Intensive Moisture Balm is a multipurpose product that delivers on its promises. It’s affordable and effective, perfect for sealing in hydration at night for refreshed skin by morning.
And the One That Didn’t Stand Up to Testing
KYLIE COSMETICS (Kylie Jenner)
Kylie Jenner sold a 51% stake in her company to beauty giant Coty for $600 million in 2019, but not all products live up to the hype.
While the lip pencil is smooth and pleasant to use, the matte liquid lipstick falls short. It’s drying, emphasizes lip lines, and flakes off, making it a product I would recommend skipping.
