Kygo to Debut Palm Tree Beach Club at MGM Grand in Las Vegas Alongside New Residency with Tao Group (EXCLUSIVE)

Kygo’s Palm Tree Beach Club: A New Era in Las Vegas Entertainment

Electronic music sensation Kygo, known for his melodic tropical house sound, is set to make waves in Las Vegas with the opening of his very own Palm Tree Beach Club at the MGM Grand. Slated to debut in May, this exciting venture marks a significant shift for the artist, who has spent the last eight years as a resident at Wynn Nightlife. Partnering with his manager Myles Shear and their Palm Tree Crew venture, Kygo is poised to redefine the Las Vegas dayclub experience.

A Visionary Design

The Palm Tree Beach Club, designed by the renowned Rockwell Group, promises to be a bold and immersive music and entertainment experience. Envisioned as a tropical oasis, the venue will feature a ground-level stage, a saltwater pool, and luxurious amenities including 12 bungalows and 10 cabanas. With a capacity to accommodate up to 3,000 guests, the club will be equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system, LED screens, and pyrotechnics, all set against a backdrop that blends the elegance of Beverly Hills with the laid-back vibe of Palm Springs.

Jason Strauss, Co-CEO of Tao Group Hospitality, emphasizes the fresh approach to the venue, stating, “Every material is new, from the floor to horticulture and greenery to the fabrics in the cabana to the layout of tables.” This attention to detail aims to create an environment that resonates with Kygo’s signature sound and aesthetic.

A Star-Studded Legacy

Kygo, whose real name is Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, has built an impressive career through collaborations with major artists like Selena Gomez, Rita Ora, and John Legend. His influence extends beyond music; he has also launched a series of Palm Tree festivals in various global locations, further solidifying his brand. The Palm Tree Beach Club is intended to serve as a permanent home for this vibrant community, offering fans a unique space to engage with Kygo’s music and lifestyle.

The Evolution of Las Vegas Hospitality

The concept of the Palm Tree Beach Club aligns with a broader trend in Las Vegas, where artists are increasingly taking ownership of their brand experiences. Strauss notes that the success of country music stars like Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean has paved the way for this evolution. “This is the obvious evolution of hospitality in Las Vegas, where artists are coming in and bringing their concepts and brands,” he explains.

This shift is reminiscent of the legacy left by the late Jimmy Buffett, whose Margaritaville brand has become a cultural phenomenon. Kygo and Shear have drawn inspiration from Buffett’s ability to create a community around his music, envisioning a similar environment where fans can connect with Kygo’s persona and artistry.

From Apparel to Entertainment

The Palm Tree Crew began as an apparel company, selling branded merchandise like T-shirts and necklaces. However, under Kygo and Shear’s leadership, it has evolved into a multifaceted enterprise that includes live events, a consumer brand, and strategic partnerships, such as a deal with Live Nation. The duo has also acquired a stake in celebrity event production company Medium Rare, further expanding their reach in the entertainment industry.

Kygo’s success has been marked by sold-out arenas and a thriving Vegas residency, complemented by the Palm Tree festivals that attract top-tier artists and enthusiastic crowds. The Palm Tree Beach Club is set to elevate this experience, offering fans a new way to engage with the music they love.

A Historic Partnership

The collaboration between Kygo and Tao Group is unprecedented in Las Vegas history, as it marks the first time a DJ has partnered in the creation of a venue. Shear reflects on the journey, noting that their friendship with Strauss and his partner Noah Tepperberg has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life. “When we found out about the opportunity, we almost didn’t believe it. It feels historic,” he shares.

The Palm Tree Beach Club aims to enhance the guest experience by allowing fans to be closer to the DJ, creating an intimate atmosphere that fosters a deeper connection to the performance. Strauss highlights the importance of this interaction, stating, “It’s all about how they interact with the experience and the performance.”

The Legacy of Wet Republic

The Palm Tree Beach Club will take over the space formerly occupied by Wet Republic, a pioneering dayclub that opened in 2008 and hosted some of the biggest names in electronic music. While Wet Republic enjoyed considerable success, Strauss believes it was time to elevate the concept to meet the evolving desires of consumers. The new venue will not only feature cosmetic improvements but also a reimagined narrative that aligns with the current trends in entertainment.

Looking Ahead

As anticipation builds for the official opening of the Palm Tree Beach Club, details regarding the lineup and performance schedule are yet to be announced. However, the excitement surrounding this venture is palpable, with Kygo’s loyal fanbase eager to experience this innovative space.

In addition to the Las Vegas club, the Palm Tree Crew has ambitious plans for the future, including the recent opening of Palm Tree Club Orlando and Palm Tree Club Miami. The next Palm Tree festival is set to take place in Aspen, featuring an impressive lineup of artists, including Kygo himself.

As the landscape of Las Vegas nightlife continues to evolve, Kygo’s Palm Tree Beach Club stands as a testament to the growing intersection of music, hospitality, and community, promising an unforgettable experience for fans and visitors alike.
